About the event

Scott'll talk about collecting and analyzing macroinvertebrate species using a variety of collection methods. Species population, diversity, richness, and distribution allow us to determine current and past pollution events. Macroinvertebrate data is one of the few living biological methods for determining overall water quality. Our bug group collect in the streams and lakes located around and in Walt Disney World property. Macroinvertebrate data is often compared to the canary in the coal mine situation.

We are also involved in invasive species monitoring.
